I marvel at how quickly this present regime
is dismantling the heritage and traditions of this Republic.
Nothing seems to hinder these fellows.
Certainly not shame,
for such a condition requires humility,
which requires a conscience.
Not a shred of that is to be seen in Washington.
Neither are they hindered by laws.
No, these once hallowed things have become mere expressions of whimsy with scarcely more power than a handful of suggestions.
Neither are they hindered by any opposition outside of a few as yet inchoate voices out in the heartland.
Yes, I know that there is something called “the Republican Party”
still operative somewhere in the halls of congress,
but its members are as ferocious as lowing cattle.

Nothing about the nation appears sacred and off-limits to Obama and his wrecking crew. The entire thing is to be taken apart and reassembled into—what? Most certainly this brave new state will be grand, imperial and all-encompassing. Already the Obama has set no limits whatsoever where his noisome minions may not intrude. All is to come under the purview of the state. You might do this simple little test: Think of an area where Obama has stated that his new government will not exert its authority. Take your time.

Such a massive state has gone by many names. Fascism, socialism, communism, statism—choose one or all. Their differences are small, their similarities are many. All involve the subservience of the citizenry—of the subjects—to the omnicompetent and all-knowing state. Our Republic was founded by men who so distrusted the state that all sorts of checks, balances, limitations and separation of powers were woven into the very fabric of the Republic. The government as envisioned by Obama cannot accept the slightest impediment to its power. The first resort and final appeal—the very alpha and omega of authority—will be the government.

Naturally a government of such massive size and influence must be staffed. Huge edifices must be constructed, bureaucracies created, directives issued and laws written. Hundreds of thousands of new jobs will become open as these agencies begin to function. You might wonder what sort of people will be attracted to these new centers of power and influence. Easy answer: The same sort of people who are attracted to the Internal Revenue Service, Environmental Protection Agencies and Departments of Education—petty busybodies, grim manipulators, and small-minded paper pushers. These types will exert more direct control over your life than any religion ever could. Indeed, this motley throng will become the new priesthood of the new America.

And from where will come the necessary funds to pay for all of this? It will come from you. You will be taxed and taxed again to pay for these creatures whose sole reason to live is to ride herd over you.

This America we inhabit has long been seen as the last great hope of mankind, a place where Liberty would never be extinguished no matter if it disappeared everywhere else. That charming notion no longer holds. The uniqueness of our republican experiment, forged long ago in that Philadelphia room and founded upon hard lessons taught us by the Hebrews, the Greeks, the Romans and the Christians over 3200 years of history, is being dissolved in mere months. Its replacement will be nothing more exotic than the drearily common form of rule known throughout time and space: A self-elected Illuminati at the top, a busy multitude of minions below them toiling away in dank bureaucracies and the masses at the very bottom, upon whose shoulders will rest this entire edifice of control and rule.

In 1000 years some archeologist might stumble upon the writings of Jefferson, Madison, Adams and all the rest of those dead men whose lives, fortunes and sacred honor were poured out for generations of Americans yet unborn. One might wonder what the fellow would think as he rummaged through the detritus of whatever else remained of our American civilization. My guess is that he will break out in laughter.
