Thomas Jefferson knew because he-himself studied the previous failed attempts at government. I DO NOT MUCH LIKE DONALD TRUMP AND I CANNOT IMAGINE THAT I WOULD VOTE FOR HIM TO BECOME THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. HOWEVER, I HAVE
ADMIRED HIS BRASH CANDOR. HE SPEAKS WHAT HE SINCERELY BELIEVES.

Recently I saw him on TV in an interview in which he said that he did not believe that Barack Hussein Obama is qualified to be POTUS by reason of his lack of citizenship. Evidently one of the writers of the NYT wrote an article ridiculing Trump as a "birther." I love Trump's response in a letter that appeared in the NYT.

All during the election campaign in 2008 I raised objections to the Obama candidacy in the postscript that you can read below Trump's letter. I believed what I wrote then and I believe it now.

Barack Hussein Obama is not a natural born citizen of the United States and therefore is not qualified to be POTUS. The greatest fraud ever perpetrated on the people of the United States has been perpetrated. As Trump suggests, some enterprising journalist should earn a Pulitzer Prize by exposing the fraud.

Re “Donald Trump Gets Weirder,” by Gail Collins (column, April 2):

Even before Gail Collins was with the New York Times, she has written nasty and derogatory articles about me. Actually, I have great respect for Ms. Collins in that she has survived so long with so little talent. Her storytelling ability and word usage (coming from me, who has written many bestsellers), is not at a very high level. More importantly, her facts are wrong!

As far as her comments on the so-called “birther” issue, I don't need Ms. Collins's advice. There is a very large segment of our society who believe that Barack Obama, indeed, was not born in the United States. His grandmother from Kenya stated, on tape, that he was born in Kenya and she was there to watch the birth. His family in Honolulu is fighting over which hospital in Hawaii he was born in-they just don't know.

He has not been able to produce a “birth certificate” but merely a totally unsigned “certificate of live birth”-which is totally different and of very little significance. Unlike a birth certificate, a certificate of live birth is very easy to obtain. Equally of importance, there are no records in Hawaii that a Barack Hussein Obama was born there-no bills, no doctors names, no nurses names, no registrations, no payments, etc. As far as the two notices placed in newspapers, many things could have happened, but some feel the grandparents put an ad in order to show that he was a citizen of the U.S. with all of the benefits thereto. Everybody, after all, and especially then, wanted to be a United States citizen.

The term used by Ms. Collins-“birther”-is very derogatory and is meant in a derogatory way. Had this been George Bush or almost any other President or Presidential aspirant, they would never have been allowed to attain office, or would have been thrown out of office very quickly.

For some reason, the press protects President Obama beyond anything or anyone I have ever seen. What they don't realize is that if he was not born in the United States, they would have uncovered the greatest "scam" in the history of our country. In other words, they would become the hottest writer since Watergate, or beyond.

Open your eyes, Gail, there's at least a good chance that Barack Hussein Obama has made mincemeat out of our great and cherished Constitution!

Trump claims pro-life conversion ‘years’ ago - despite endorsing Hillary Clinton

NEW YORK, April 11, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Donald Trump has played many roles during his years in the public eye - business magnate, beauty pageant owner, reality TV show host - but few performances have received as much attention as his potential bid to fight Obama for the presidency on the GOP ticket.

Trump now rides a surprising wave of popularity, landing a weekly appearance on Fox News as he rises in the polls on a platform focused on challenging President Obama’s claim to be a natural-born American citizen. In states such as New Hampshire, Trump has been shown to draw significant support away from 2012 hopeful Mitt Romney, a frontrunner for the GOP ticket. In an NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, Trump was second behind Romney and tied with former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

Despite professing support for abortion for decades, the New York tycoon has now claimed that he experienced a conversion on the issue “a number of years ago.”

“One thing about me, I’m a very honorable guy, okay? And I’m pro-life, but I changed my view a number of years ago,” Trump told Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody last week.

Trump said that “one of the primary reasons” he changed was from hearing the story of a friend who didn’t want a baby but chose to keep it. “He ends up having the baby and the baby is the apple of his eye. It’s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to him. And you know here’s a baby that wasn’t going to be let into life,” he said. “And I heard this, and some other stories, and I am pro-life.”

However, as late as 2007, Trump endorsed top pro-abortion personality Hillary Clinton as well as pro-abortion former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani for the Democrat and Republican 2008 presidential tickets, saying that they “both would do a good job.”

“I know them, Rudy and Hillary. I think you really have some good candidates,” Trump said in a Larry King Live interview October 15, 2007.

Trump’s donation record is all over the board, with small donations going to pro-life Republicans such as 2008 GOP presidential candidate John McCain, Oklahoma Sen. Tom Coburn, and George W. Bush, as well as pro-abortion Democrats such as Hillary Clinton, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand of New York, Sen. Bill Nelson of Florida, and Senate leader Harry Reid.

The New York Times reported in February that Trump also gave former Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel, another 100% pro-abortion rated politician, $50,000 for his successful mayoral bid in Chicago.

Politicians familiar with Trump say that his flashy and aggressive campaign makes sense for the flamboyant financier - but not because he’s serious about his political views.

“I know Donald a long time. I never take him seriously. I don’t think he’s a serious candidate,” former Staten Island Congressman Guy Molinari told the New York Post.

Even New Jersey Republican governor Chris Christie, a GOP cult favorite for 2012 despite repeatedly stating he wouldn’t run, gently dismissed Trump’s campaign as being of a piece with his publicity-hungry personality.

“Donald’s a really good friend of mine. I don’t know that Donald really wants to be president,” said Christie in an ABC News interview. “I’ll believe it when I see it. ... He’s very outspoken, and he loves to be on the stage and to express his opinions.”

One of the most poorly kept secrets in Washington is President Obama's animosity toward Great Britain , presumably because of what he regards as its sins while ruling Kenya (1895-1963).

One of Barack Hussein Obama's first acts as president was to return to Britain a bust of Winston Churchill that had graced the Oval Office since 9/11. He followed this up by denying Prime Minister Gordon Brown, on his first state visit, the usual joint press conference with flags.

The president was "too tired" to grant the leader of America 's closest ally a proper welcome, his aides told British journalists.

Mr. Obama followed this up with cheesy gifts for Mr. Brown and the Queen. Columnist Ian Martin described his behavior as "rudeness personified." There was more rudeness in store for Mr. Brown at the opening session of the United Nations in September. "The prime minister was forced to dash through the kitchens of the UN in New York to secure five minutes of face time with President Obama after five requests for a sit down meeting were rejected by the White House," said London Telegraph columnist David Hughes. Mr. Obama's "churlishness is unforgivable," Mr. Hughes said.

The administration went beyond snubs and slights last week when Secretary of State Hillary Clinton endorsed the demand of Argentine President Cristina Kirchner, a Hugo Chavez ally, for mediation of Argentina 's specious claim to the Falkland Islands , a British dependency since 1833. The people who live in the Falklands, who speak English, want nothing to do with Argentina . When, in 1982, an earlier Argentine dictatorship tried to seize the Falklands by force, the British -- with strong support from President Ronald Reagan -- expelled them.

"It is truly shocking that Barack Obama has decided to disregard our shared history," wrote Telegraph columnist Toby Young. "Does Britain 's friendship really mean so little to him?" One could ask, does the friendship of anyone in the entire world mean anything to him?

"I recently asked several senior administration officials, separately, to name a foreign leader with whom Barack Obama has forged a strong personal relationship during his first year in office," wrote Jackson Diehl, deputy editorial page editor of the Washington Post, on Monday. " A lot of hemming and hawing ensued." One official named French President Nicolas Sarkozy, but his contempt for Mr. Obama is an open secret. Another named German Chancellor Angela Merkel. But, said Mr. Diehl, "Merkel too has been conspicuously cool toward Obama."

Mr. Obama certainly doesn't care about the Poles and Czechs, whom he has betrayed on missile defense. Honduras and Israel also can attest that he's been an unreliable ally and an unfaithful friend. Ironically, our relations with both Israel and the Palestinian Authority have never been worse. Russia has offered nothing in exchange for Mr. Obama's abandonment of missile defense. Russia and China won't support serious sanctions on Iran . Syria 's support for terrorism has not diminished despite efforts to normalize diplomatic relations. The reclusive military dictatorship that runs Burma has responded to our efforts at "engagement" by deepening its ties to North Korea .

And the Chinese make little effort to disguise their contempt for him.

For the first time in a long time, the President of the United States is actually distrusted by its allies and not in the least feared by its adversaries. Nor is Mr. Obama now respected by the majority of Americans. Understandably focused on the dismal economy and Mr. Obama's relentless efforts to nationalize and socialize health care, Americans apparently have yet to notice his dismal performance and lack of respect in the world community.
They soon will.

Hey, it's the weekend, and everyone's singing the same maddeningly catchy refrain! Rebecca Black's "Friday"? Nah, that was last week's moronic sing-along. This week's is even perkier! "Paul Ryan proposes to end Medicare as we know it," sings former Clinton chief of staff John Podesta. "It would end Medicare as we know it," sings Sen. Max Baucus of Montana. "It's going to end Medicare as we know it," sings Nadeam Elshami, communications director for Nancy Pelosi. "It does end Medicare as we know it," sings Sen. Tom Harkin of Iowa. "I drove all night to watch Paul Ryan e-e-end Me-edi-ica-a-are as we-e kno-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-w it," sing all 24 semifinalists on the Céline Dion round of "American Idol."
Sadly, Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, incoming chair of the Democratic National Committee, lost the sheet music and was forced to improvise. "This plan would literally be a death trap for seniors," she ululated. Close enough!

Ending Medicare as we know it? Say it ain't so! Medicare, we hardly knew ye! It's an open question whether Americans will fall for one more chorus of the same old song from Baucus, Harkin, Podesta and the other members of America's wrinkliest boy band. But, if this is the level on which the feckless patronizing spendaholics of the permanent governing class want to conduct the debate, bring it on:
Paul Ryan's plan would "end Medicare as we know it".
The Democrats' "plan" – business as usual – will end America as we know it.
Literally, as Rep. Wasserman-Schultz would say. One way or another, Medicare as we know it is going to end. So, if you think an unsustainable 1960s welfare program is as permanent a feature as the earth and sky, you're in for a shock. It's just a question of whether, after the shock, what's left looks like Japan or looks like Haiti.
My comrade Jonah Goldberg compares America's present situation to that of a plane with one engine out, belching smoke. But, if anything, he understates the crisis. Air America doesn't need a busted engine because it's pre-programmed to crash. Our biggest problem is Medicare and other "entitlements": They're the automatic pilot of Big Government. Whoever's in the captain's seat makes no difference: The flight is preprogrammed to hit the iceberg, if you'll forgive me switching mass-transit metaphors in midstream.
For some reason, Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Harkin & Co. don't seem to mind this. If you recall the smile on the face of the "automatic pilot" in the movie "Airplane!" as he's being inflated, that's pretty much the Democrats' attitude to binge-spending as a permanent fact of life.
For a sense of Democrat insouciance to American decline, let us turn to the president himself. The other day Barack Obama was in the oddly apt town of Fairless Hills, Pa., at what the White House billed as one of those ersatz "town hall" discussions into which republican government has degenerated. He was asked a question by a citizen of the United States. The cost of a gallon of gas has doubled on Obama's watch, and this gentleman asked, "Is there a chance of the price being lowered again?"
As the Associated Press reported it, the president responded "laughingly": "I know some of these big guys, they're all still driving their big SUVs. You know, they got their big monster trucks and everything. ... If you're complaining about the price of gas, and you're only getting eight miles a gallon – (laughter)..."
That's how the official White House transcript reported it: Laughter. Big yuks. "So, like I said, if you're getting eight miles a gallon you may want to think about a trade-in. You can get a great deal."
Hey, thanks! You've been a great audience. I'll be here all year. Don't forget to tip your Democrat hat-check girl on the way out: At four bucks a gallon, it's getting harder for volunteers to drive elderly voters from the cemetery to the polling station. Relax, I'm just jerking your crank, buddy! And it's not four bucks per, it's only three-ninety-eight. That's change you can believe in!
Message: It's your fault. The same day as the president was doing his moribund-economy shtick, my hairdresser told me that she'd bought her midsize sedan second-hand in 2004. She'd also like to ask the president if there's a chance of gas prices being lowered again. But he'd have the same answer: Buy a hybrid. Wait till the high-speed rail-link is built between Dead Skunk Junction and Hickburg Falls. Climb into the fishnets and the come-hither smile and hitch.
America, 2011: A man gets driven in a motorcade to sneer at a man who has to drive himself to work. A guy who has never generated a dime of wealth, never had to make payroll, never worked at any job other than his own tireless self-promotion literally cannot comprehend that out there, beyond the far fringes of the motorcade outriders, are people who drive a long distance to jobs whose economic viability is greatly diminished when getting there costs twice as much as the buck-eighty-per-gallon it cost back at the dawn of the Hopeychangey Era.
So what? Your fault. Should have gone to Columbia and Harvard and become a community organizer.
Another 10 years of this, and large tracts of America will be Third World. Not Somalia-scale Third World, but certainly the more decrepit parts of Latin America. There will still be men with motorcades, but they'll have heavier security and the compounds they shuttle between will be more heavily protected. For them and their cronies, the guys plugged in, the guys who still know who to call to figure out a workaround through the bureaucratic sclerosis, life will be manageable, and they'll still be wondering why you loser schlubs are forever whining about gas prices, and electricity prices and food prices.
What's about to hit America is not a "shock." It's not an earthquake, it's not a tsunami, it's what Paul Ryan calls "the most predictable crisis in the history of our country." It has one cause: Spending. The spending of the class that laughs at the class that drives to work to maintain President Obama, Sen. Reid, Sen. Baucus, Sen. Harkin and Minority Leader Pelosi's "communications director" in their comforts and complacency.
The Democrats' solution to the problem is to deny there is one. Unsustainable binge-spending is, as the computer wallahs say, not a bug but a feature: We'll stimulate the economy with a stimulus grant for a Stimulus Grant-Writing Community Outreach Permit Co-ordinator regulated by the Federal Department of Community-Organizer Grant Applications. What's to worry about?
I said the Democrats' plan is to "end America as we know it," but even that has been outsourced to others. The choice is between letting Paul Ryan end Medicare as we know it, or letting our foreign lenders determine the moment to end America as we know it. I would not presume to know Chinese or Russian or Saudi or even European inclinations in this respect, although certain shifts in the ratio between short-term and long-term debt holdings suggest foreign governments give more thought to the implications of U.S. government spending than the U.S. government does. But I do know their interests are not ours, and that there will come a day when Beijing and others, in the words of King Barack to his lowly subject, "may want to think about a trade-in."
Now there's a slogan for 2012.
